JOB DESCRIPTION AND STATEMENT OF WORK

USAID Compete Activity is a five year, $16.4M project which aims to facilitate the private sector’s improved competitiveness in local, regional and global markets. USAID Compete Activity works to empower firms, organizations and institutions to improve market systems in key focus. USAID Compete Activity focuses in three key export-oriented sectors of wood processing, food processing and Information and Communications Technology, to sustainable increase their competitiveness. By working to address constraints across the market system of its focus sectors, USAID Compete seeks to enable scalable and systemic change to occur, stimulating job creation and growth and private sector increased ability to engage in local, regional and international markets. The expected results of USAID Compete Activity across all its three sectors are: 1) Market systems are strengthened to increase sector competitiveness; and 2) market actors within those market systems are more productive and competitive.

USAID Compete Activity is recruiting for the following position on the project:

Name of Position Minority Inclusion Manager

General Responsibilities

 

The position is responsible for managing the implementation of project activities that specifically target USAID Kosovo Activity’s marginalized beneficiaries: minorities and other socially disadvantages groups. The Minorities and Inclusion Manager will ensure that minorities are integrated into all planned activities on the Project. He/she will work with the USAID Kosovo Compete Activity team to collect and analyse minority specific data and set appropriate inclusive indicators. This is a long term, part time position.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Together with technical teams, manage the preparation of annual work plans for social inclusion of minorities, and the subsequent development of implementing action plans.
  • Ensures minorities are integrated into all project activities;
  • Works with USAID Kosovo Compete Activity team on collection and analysis of minority specific disaggregated data and indicators;
  • Actively originate and manage interventions in all USAID Kosovo Compete Activity components that affirmatively support inclusion of minorities;
  • Ensure proper implementation and record-keeping for all minority inclusion activities, including those involving Grants and Subcontracts;
  • Participate in regular activity weekly coordination meeting.
Minimum Education Requirement
  • Relevant university degree
Minimum Professional Experience
  • 5 years’ relevant professional experience
  • Expertise and tools to design, conduct, and review analyses, and provide minorities and inclusion lens to activities;
  • Knowledge of key barriers/constraints particularly affecting minority populations and ability to engage with different minority populations throughout Kosovo;
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and facilitate group action;
  • Knowledge of USAID strategic goals for Kosovo and their operating methodologies;
  • Strong conceptual and communications skills in verbal presentations and writing, in English and local languages
Period of Performance April, 2023- August, 2025
Level of Effort Full-time, with possibility of less then.
Supervisor Chief of Party
Supervisory role The position may be required to manage relevant technical STTA as necessary
