Call for expressions of interest

The GIZ project “Capacity Development for climate policy in the countries of South East, Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia, Phase III” commissioned by German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) invites qualified companies to submit expression of interest in providing consultancy services to develop and implement an event management and public relations strategy for the 2024 edition of the Kosovo’s Sustainable Development Week, that is planned to be held during 16-22 September 2024.

Kosovo Sustainable Development Week (KSDW) is a joint initiative of a group local and international stakeholders and aims to develop and further incentivise the implementation of the Green Agenda in Kosovo and the region through monitoring mechanisms, high-level open discussions and awareness raising measures. KSDW continues to be the biggest event on sustainable development in Kosovo, attracting high participation and media coverage. While aiming to highlight topics, solutions and activities that promote sustainable development in the region, the conference will bring in a single space high level representative of Western Balkans Governments, experts on the field, decision-makers, and civil society representatives from the region.

Under the thematic focus of "Climate Action" for the 2024 edition, K SDW will cast a spotlight on advancing a green, resilient, and inclusive nation. The discourse during the event will delve into crucial aspects, encompassing climate resilience strategies, energy transition, water security, sustainable agriculture, and exploring innovative technologies for enhanced renewable energy generation and water management. A key highlight will be the advancing partnership between Kosovo and Germany on Climate and Energy, emphasizing its crucial role in shaping a sustainable future.

This year's KSDW will distinguish itself by featuring an array of ongoing activities designed to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience. Notably, these activities encompass dynamic youth exchange sessions, outreach initiatives primarily tailored to students, capacity- building sessions specifically designed for Civil Society Organizations, policy dialogues, inter- governmental discussions, and engaging roundtable sessions. Together, these endeavours aim to deepen the understanding of environmental issues, empower diverse stakeholders, and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future. The 2024 edition of KSDW is poised to be more than a singular event—it is a holistic initiative shaping a greener, more resilient, and inclusive path forward for Kosovo.

The consultancy is expected to cover the whole management and public relations of the event. Based on the outcome of offers, the GIZ project will offer a framework contract to the selected company. Please note that all correspondence and dealing with the GIZ must be in English language.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

1. Proof of company’s legal status (registration and/or certification documentation), company details (name, postal address bank information etc.), date of incorporation within their initial response.
2. References that prove at least 3 years of experience in event management and public relations in Kosovo
3. Average annual turnover for the last three fiscal years, at least 50,000 Euros/annually Confirmation from the Tax Administration of Kosova is required.
4. At least 3 references of comparable services, specifically in event management and public relations strategy development and implementation.
5. At least 1 reference of comparable services, specifically high-level conference organization and implementation.

All documents must be submitted in English language but do not need to be verified by a court translator and simple copy of documents is sufficient. All documents must be submitted in English language.

After the evaluation of received expressions of interest, the chosen companies will be contacted and invited to take part in the tender. GIZ shall not bear any costs and expenses incurred by any bidder during the tender procedure and shall retain right to acceptor refuse completely any offer, annul, or repeat the procedure at any time before the execution of a contract, holding at the same time no liability towards the bidders, and shall have no responsibility to provide reasons for such decision. The tender dossier will be sent only to short listed service providers.
